Well the d44hd and the d50 fronts are hard to tell apart without closer pics ,axles and d-shaft yokes are the easiest way to tell . The d44 is tough enough that they just put the 8 lugs on it for bigger brakes and wheel bearings and hub/axles and called it a d44hd . the d50's were an option thing on 3/4 ton and std on 1 tons.

She looks mean without the front bumper ! :D

only reason i bothered with a front bumper is to keep those dang hondas n' toyotas from getting stuck under there.  haha. even tho i drive a toyota.... i still dont like em!

Heres some older pics from last year leading up to now... didnt get a chance to capture much "work" cuz i was busy doing it lol. mostly the in-between jobs pictures. This is what i got.... came with brand new doors, fenders, rad support, hood, visor, panel beneath grille, and changed cab, and painted. and a 3" body lift installed (minus shifter / bumper mods) After the 35's i got for 400$, wheels i got for 150$ (2 pairs, not quite exact, but the price was right!!) unfortunately they are 15"s rather than 16"s, so i had to "modify" my calipers because they scraped the rims so slightly... grinder did the trick. i put a complete new brake system on her, except the pedal lol. Also changed the transmission and t-case. and a few U-joints.Also came with new E-brake cables, new tank (old gas tho, took a couple flushings to get her running) got hedman hedders, new full dual exhaust, 2 1/2" with vortex mufflers and 3" back from there. Frame is almost mint, couple minor patches i welded on arent even noticable. Changed a couple crossmembers, and gave her a massive undercoat. Also i installed some side kick-outs on the tail pipes, i hate pipes stickin' out under the bumper on a truck !! Just asking to get ripped off backing thru shit lol. Changed a leaf, added auxiliaries, changed a shackle and hanger on one side, put new shock mounts and some free used ranchos...Even ended up having to change the water pump, and power steering box, and patching frame behind that, which i did all at once because its easy access with the front of the motor off. Parts source?? you guessed it, parts truck. This was the box i got with it to work with... did a cheap quick job and greased her up like hell. I'm not willing to spend 1000$ or 2000$ on a nice box to go into the woods and haul wood and stuff.... frig that. Had a front bumper off parts truck, rear i got from my friends junkyard. Made custom bracket for front and drilled new holes for rear to lift them. turned out good! And the Spray Bomb Supreme paint job to the rear has to be the best ever... fresh out of the barn with paint!! good match for spray bomb.I put in all the XLT Lariat interior minus power locks/ windows, from my parts truck. Nice and quiet inside despite the obnoxious tailpipes lol. I even had to put in all the door lock and handle hardware, new windshield, stereo....changed both shotgun windows, who knows what else!! thank got for parts trucks!!!!!!
And here she is with a new 25$ tailgate, perfect match. And brand new side mirrors, brackets off parts truck once again. Even had to put a tail light wiring harness, that was missing as well.So thats the shortened version of the year-long project... now I can start having a little bit of fun!!!!!
